The role

The Delivery Engineer, Financial Services works as an embedded technical advisor to banks and other financial institutions in Japan. The role goes beyond conventional services or solutions engineering. You own the customer outcome from start to finish, beginning with discovery and investigative work and continuing through solution design, integration, deployment and long-term enablement.

The position combines analytical rigour, financial services expertise and strategic customer partnership. Fluency in Japanese, both spoken and written, is required.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end engagements with banks and financial institutions, from discovery through to ongoing value delivery
• Understand investigative, compliance, fraud, AML and operational objectives, and turn them into practical outcomes
• Design, build and maintain custom workflows, notebooks, dashboards, queries and data models
• Enable customers to run solutions independently and embed them in their operational infrastructure
• Act as the primary technical and domain advisor, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
• Deliver training, demonstrations and technical briefings to technical and non-technical audiences
• Support pre-sales engagement on complex and strategic financial services opportunities
• Work with product, engineering, intelligence and sales teams to shape the roadmap from customer and market insight
• Share domain expertise and investigative best practice across the wider team

What you bring

• Substantive professional experience working directly with banks or financial institutions
• Fluent spoken and written Japanese
• Operational experience in cryptocurrency investigations, blockchain intelligence, financial crime analysis, AML, compliance or fraud
• Strong understanding of how financial institutions manage financial crime, risk, investigations and digital asset exposure
• Deep familiarity with blockchain ecosystems, including BTC, ETH, stablecoins and DeFi
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience building analytical workflows on large datasets
• Experience communicating findings to audiences ranging from analysts to senior banking executives
• Comfort with ambiguity, ownership and fast-paced environments, and a practical approach to using AI tools in daily work
