A Channel Manager to lead partner sales in Japan for a global data integration software company, with a primary focus on independent software vendor partners alongside systems integrators. The role builds the regional partner strategy and drives co-sell activity that generates partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline.

About the company

A global data integration software company that helps organisations move, prepare and trust their data for analytics and AI. Its technology delivers data into customers' warehouses ready to query, with minimal engineering or maintenance effort. The company is expanding its partner-led business in Japan.

The role

The Channel Manager joins the regional Partner Sales team, which owns and accelerates partner success, revenue and growth. The majority of the focus is on key independent software vendor partners, without excluding systems integrators. The role is also the voice of the Japan sales team back to the global partner organisation, setting out what is needed from partners to co-sell effectively in the market.

This is a full-time, remote position based in and around Tokyo.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in shaping the enterprise partner strategy for Japan with technology, systems integrator and global systems integrator partners, aiming to drive both partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline and wins.
  • Create and execute a territory plan that builds mutual engagement between the company's sales team and its partners' sales teams.
  • Plan and deliver partner go-to-market and field activities, driving account alignment and co-sell opportunities.
  • Develop joint marketing and sales opportunities with and through strategic regional partners.

What you bring

  • Structured planning: the ability to break larger projects into tasks, with clear timelines and milestones.
  • A clear understanding of organisational goals, and the judgement to align your work to them and assess its impact.
  • Sound prioritisation across multiple tasks and conflicting demands, allocating time and effort against available resources.
  • Strong ownership of results, with clear and proactive communication of commitments and deadlines to colleagues, leaders and stakeholders.
  • The initiative to identify obstacles early and resolve them, or seek support where needed.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across internal and partner sales organisations, expand your network through outreach and partner events, and encourage collaboration and knowledge-sharing among partners.
  • An established network within the technology partner ecosystem is an advantage.
